How To Style A Wedding Photoshoot  (hint: hold the wind!)

Perhaps the most important step in the photoshoot process is creating a vision of the inspiration I want my photos to convey.  As a stylist, I choose a theme or a look for the shoot after much study into the the moods and emotions my collection conveys in a particular setting to make sure the overall result is successful.  If I were a bride, I would also choose a theme or look to ensure I am creating a look that is unique, and my result will bring me images to treasure.  I have found that a critical part of this first process comes in articulating my vision to the photographer and models involved so that our look is cohesive, and we end up with very strong images that exude the confidence of our vision – whether my vision is a beach, garden or open field setting.

Which brings me to the subject of how I have chosen the collaborators I have:  of course, working with people who have interest in my photoshoot is essential, but the photographers and models must also be people I know and trust to carry through on the execution of the project to the end.  Finding talented people around a city like Seattle is not difficult, but gaining their enthusiasm and commitment to the project is best attained by managing everyone’s expectations ahead of time as to what you need from each of them – whether model or photographer – to ensure successful images as a result.  Offering images to those involved can help offset the fact that they have given of their time “gratis.”

Nothing matters more than taking time, time and more time to ensure you get the exact photos and views you desire.  Since I am creating this shot from ground zero, deciding on the location, the time of day, the garments to be styled and the arrangements, I have complete control of the photoshoot at this point.  I typically travel out to the proposed location to confirm setting, photo angles, lighting, distractions and more prior to the day of the shoot.  This preparation step allows me to make changes or take advantage of unusual offshoots of my original idea, change time of day, and ensure a more perfect shot or subject lighting.  I love being in control of the details, and at this point, I am able to use them completely to my advantage.

Speaking of the details….didn’t someone once say the “devil is in the details?”  Indeed!  It isn’t long into the photoshoot that I realize that if I hadn’t taken time to walk through every possible aspect of the details, making sure to prepare for closeup and detailed shots within the chosen setting, that I might not have released the creative juices of both the models and photographers that became part of the final result I obtained on my shoots – both from super close to zoom out views.

In the end, perhaps the most fun for me on each and every photoshoot, is the “action” in the moment.  Being there to tie, turn, swivel, adjust lengths, re-tie, help battle the wind that just picked-up, assist the photographer in adjusting something her, or his eye has caught, and cheering on the amazing emotions our models have been able to feel and control…despite all the distraction of our fussing!  There is just nothing like showtime!  We’ve got a set amount of time, and all of our planning has now come to play. It’s like a living painting that we are creating, and we are putting all of our feelings into that moment.  It think everyone who has ever created a photoshoot understands the pulse of those moments being captured. There is just nothing else like it, I suppose, which is why we love it!

LOVE SPELL TESTIMONY

Thank you so much DOCTOR ODUNGA for making my ex boyfriend come back to me. I am writing this wonderful testimony in respect of this man. He made all my wishes come true. My boyfriend and I dated for more than 3 years and although we had had so many quarrels we never thought of a break up. One day, he called me over the phone telling me how he is tired of the relationship and cannot see anywhere that we are heading to. Months passed and my boyfriend did not contact me anymore and I did not hear from him anymore and his cell phone was disconnected. I knew I needed to seek help because of the love I have for him. I contacted this great spell caster because i have never contacted anyone before and i tell you that after a week of contact, my ex boyfriend called me and asked to see me and the next morning, he wore a ring on my finger. I am very happy because I am soon going to be a married girl with the help of this great spell caster. I promised to manifest your works to everyone and please contact this man to help you

Author - Who is White Stole's Stylist?

Even though I am no star, no famous person, nor celebrity, in my own sense of who I am I know full well that accessories can be enough to glamorize my style – whether my shoes, my bag, my hat, gloves, belt, earrings… or the Stole, Scarf or Shawl I wrap my always-chilly shoulders in!
